Blue Goo

Turns out, it's all so they can put this blue goo on the balcony/walkway. I guess they are sealing the concrete. Maybe they'll do more - no way to tell.
That box is the outside part of the heat pump in Dante's room. That's how everything is heated here. Very efficient, since it never gets much below 0C. In Nikko, where it gets colder, our hotel had indoor kerosene heaters. The smell was yucky - I'd hate to live with that all the time.

Foyer

Came Home to Find This

Came home last week to find my apartment had been covered with a layer of plastic. You can see the blue coating on the door handles and plastic on the floor of the foyer.

Driver's License

I took Dante back to the transportation park today. Last time we went, he couldn't ride the one-person pedal go-kart because he was five. This time we learned that the rule isn't being 6-years-old, it's being in elementary school. He was very disappointed he still couldn't ride. The park is set up with a road to drive on that has real traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, stop signs, etc. We told him it was for learning to drive, and he said this morning he was going to get his driver's license. I let him steer the family go-kart, but it just wasn't the same.
